SKOLARS overcame three sin bin stints on their first-ever trip to Cornwall to come away with a nail-biting victory over the plucky locals.
Michael Greenhalgh (31 minutes, fighting), Luciano Bejanidze (43 minutes, throwing ball at opponent) and Judd Greenhalgh (55 minutes, dangerous tackle) all reduced the visitors to 12 men at various stages.
But after leading 12-6 at halftime, Joe Mbu’s men still managed to finish the job despite training 14-12 to the winless new boys for a 13-minute period in the second half.
Even so, Cornwall’s Joe Purcell posted his second try in the final minute to narrow the margin once more to just four.
