IN the lead-up to Friday Night Lights, we will be counting down some of our favourite fixtures since the event’s inception in 2006.
Today we revisit our 2017 match up against the now relocated South Wales Ironmen, which saw Skolars earn their sixth win in a row – a convincing 32-4 victory.
South Wales started the game with lengthy period of possession but found it impossible to cross the tryline.
The South Welshmen’s best chance came from an interception but despite the head start, the visitor’s winger was tackled into the corner flag by two Skolars’ pursuers, Jacob Ogden – on loan from London Broncos – and fan favourite Smokie Junior.
A few late tries in the half saw the home side go into the break 16-0 leaders.
A continued dominant performance in the second period, including tries from Louis Robinson and Ogden underscored the hime side’s superiority.
