There were some good moments for Joe Mbu’s men but fellow expansion franchise Midlands Hurricanes decisively took the points on Easter Sunday.
The Hurricanes got off to a flier, opening up a 12-0 lead, before London roared back through tries to second rower Harry Kaufman and stand-off Alexander Deery.
There was an opposition try in there too but when Skolars fullback Jarred Bassett crossed for the first of his two touchdowns and it was converted, the scores were tied at 16-16.
Midlands snuck over for another try just before the break but it was in the second half that they really took control.
It was Skolars’ first professional defeat in the Midlands; Coach Mbu is still looking for his first win of the season. Next weekend we host Rochdale at New River.
