Former Hemel Stag, Shane Hurley has signed for the first-team ahead of the new Rugby League season. Shane has been on trial with the squad throughout pre-season and has impressed Head Coach, Joe Mbu.
Joe had this to say after offering Shane a semi-professional contract with the club “Shane has shown incredible dedication, work rate and high levels of fitness. He has a good set of skills which will improve further. He is very much in my plans and has the ability to play at Centre or on the Wing”
Shane was equally pleased after signing “this new build London Skolars squad excites me and I am proud to be a part of it. The competition in League 1 this year will be great. I am coming out of the Southern England Lionhearts programme and feel that this will be a great challenge going forward”
Hurley and the rest of the first-team squad will continue their hard pre-season work over the coming weeks, as they prepare for the second round of the Challenge Cup, which is likely to take place on Saturday 29th January at the New River Stadium.
