A Successful Weekend for Skolars

24th May 2021

The first-team claimed their first points of the 2021 campaign on Sunday with a fine win at the Butts Park Arena, Coventry. A strong second half performance saw the team run out 26-44 winners. The full match report will follow tomorrow.

As usual, a number of other squads were competing throughout the South East of England. The open-age men’s ‘A’ squad reigned victorious at Newham Dockers. A spirited performance ensured a 20-27 victory. Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Max Ndambe who suffered a knee ligament injury. Wishing you a speedy recovery Maxx!

The U12s continued their fine early season form with a comprehensive victory (42-4) at New River against the Oxford Cavaliers. This age group is comprised of a number of talented players who we hope will be a part of the club for several seasons to come. The club’s U16s slipped to a 0-52 defeat against the Invicta Panthers. The players worked incredibly hard and showed a wonderful spirit in defeat. Kev Flanagan will continue to work with the group and we have no doubt that results will come as the season progresses.

The bank holiday weekend is a ‘bye’ week for the majority of our Junior squads. However, our U12s are travelling to Hull for an exciting away day trip. Updates will be posted towards the end of the week. Once again, a huge thank you to all our Coaches and volunteers.
