It was not only the first-team who were in action this weekend. The club’s open-age ‘A’ team, u16s and u12s all had fixtures in different locations.
The ‘A’ squad (Coached by Dalton Grant), fought hard but ended up losing 50-6 against the Brixton Bulls. The fixture took place at the home of the South London Silverbacks in Bromley. After such a long period without a League fixture, the squad of seventeen players clocked some important playing minutes which will stand them in good stead ahead of their next fixture against Newham Dockers on Saturday 22nd May.
The U16s lost 40-0 against the Medway Dragons. It is wonderful that we have so many players registered at this age group (23 and counting). They will learn from this experience and look to bounce back against the Invicta Panthers this coming weekend.
The club’s U12s travelled to Hemel to play The Stags and ran out 10-38 victors! Congratulations to Coach Hazis Krasniqi and thank you to all those who assisted with transporting players and performing match day roles. The U12s will be looking to build on this fine performance by adding another victory against the Oxford Cavaliers.
The next round of matches (for u12s & u16s) will take place at the New River Sports Complex (on the Perth Road grass pitches). Matches start at 10:00. Spectators are now permitted to attend. We encourage you to do so but please keep social distancing (2m+) in mind.
