Reserve squad goes eleven games unbeaten
It has proved to be an outstanding season for Skolars’ U20 squad. The team have completed the regular league season unbeaten with ten convincing victories and one entertaining draw against Wests Warriors Pounamu.
Interestingly, Wests could prove to be Skolars final obstacle in the Grand Final (scheduled to take place on August 17th at New River). However, they must first overcome Medway Dragons at New River on Saturday 10th August. We encourage all fans and players / parents associated with the club to come down and show your support. It is challenging to single out specific players because the whole squad has contributed to the club’s success. However, Kayne Chan-Kitchener (a recent Jack Petchey Achievement Award winner) has proved to be a leader on and off the field. It is evident that a fair proportion of the squad are in contention to play at a higher level. It is not only the victories themselves that are impressive but also the nature of them; the squad averages 50 points per game and have been equally comfortable travelling around the South East as they have amongst familiar surroundings at New River.
