London Skolars are pleased to confirm that Jy-mel Coleman has re-joined the Club until the end of the season after being released from Newcastle Thunder.

Jy-mel is a very experienced player and his contribution will help the club reach it’s playing ambitions for the remainder of the 2019 season. He originally joined the club in 2009 and also represents Jamaica at international level.

Hector McNeil, London Skolars CEO, had this to say “It is great to have Jy-mel back to bolster the ranks. He is a quality player and reinforces the clubs intentions to have a serious tilt at promotion. He knows the club and the boys and will fit in nicely.”

He will also be reunited on the playing field with his older brother Skolars Head Coach Jermaine Coleman who added: “Really excited to be signing Jy-mel back again. Obviously he has had a hard time at Newcastle Thunder, played some games and got himself in a good shape. He brings some real quality back into the group and he joins a team that is very settled and high in confidence, a team that understands the way we want to play. He is no longer coming in and try to dictate everything, he is coming in to try and add to the group that we have got now. So really excited to have him back within our ranks”.

Having signed his new deal, the 30-year-old who is the record point scorer for Jamaica is looking forward to play with the Skolars on Saturday against Whitehaven. He commented:

“I am excited to come back and help the boys. They have been going really well. I am just looking forward to enjoying my rugby again and putting my best foot forward to get selected for the World Cup squad with Jamaica”.
