London Skolars recorded their fourth consecutive victory after a closely fought contest against the North Wales Crusaders.
Crusaders certainly had the better of the opening exchanges and flew into a 12-0 lead. However, a Brown try ensured Skolars hit back just before the half-time hooter. Skolars were not at their fluent best but managed to piece together an impressive drive to level proceedings shortly before the hour mark. Macani scoring after a well worked move.
The Crusaders did not buckle under pressure and hit back almost immediately. The home fans at New River got behind the team after a Bryan try and a Barran conversion levelled proceedings. Much like the last gasp victory at Coventry, a superb late drop-goal from Mullen ensured that Skolars went join-top of the Betfred League 1 table. Jermaine Coleman was delighted with the victory and the fighting spirit shown by the squad.
