London Skolars prevailed in a closely fought match at The Butts Park Arena. Skolars flew out of the traps and soon found themselves 0-12 up (Tries: Brown & Williams). However, the Bears fought hard and came in level at the break.
Once again, Skolars started the second half brightly. Tries from Macani and Williams (coupled with conversions from Thorman) saw them regain their 12 point lead. The Bears’ response was admirable; they seized on moments of defensive weakness to take an unlikely 4 point lead with only five minutes left on the clock. However, the Skolars showed true team spirit to come again and Juma capped a wonderful team move to draw proceedings level. The ever dependable Thorman placed an inch perfect kick in off the right hand post to send the travelling fans into rapturous applause.
The Skolars now find themselves third in the Betfred League 1 table.
