London Skolars are delighted to announce that two talented junior players, Kayne Chan-Kitchener and Leighton Ball, have made the step up to the first team. Both players could play in tonight’s ‘London Clash’ at New River Stadium having been included in Jermaine Coleman’s squad.
Hector McNeil, London Skolars CEO, commented:
“It’s one of the highlights of my involvement when I see talented youngsters move up from our juniors to the first team. Kayne is only 17 and moved up from our u16s last season. He’s incredibly talented and tailor made for rugby league.
“Leighton played for our u20s last season and like Kayne is a local lad. He’s very athletic and big and both will be formidable players over the next few years. Skolars are the only pro rugby league team to run junior teams from U9s to U20s. The results are clear with the lads playing first team, for the Broncos and for other pro clubs in all divisions.”
Jermaine Coleman, London Skolars Head Coach, added:
“Both Kayne and Leighton have demonstrated a real talent and potential playing for our juniors and we are hoping to mould into first team players. Both have great attributes of speed, footwork and tenacity and most of all great attitudes. I’m looking forward to seeing their development.”
