London Skolars are delighted to announce two key additions to the club’s backroom staff with the hiring of Charlie de Haan as General Manager and Kev Flanagan as Community Development Manager.
Following the investment by Betfred Championship side Toronto Wolfpack, the appointments of Charlie and Kev is yet another example of Skolars’ ambition to improve all aspects of the club both on and off the pitch. De Haan commented:
“I am thrilled to have joined the London Skolars. My first couple of weeks has shown that there are strong aspirations to develop the club and I am excited that I will be a part of Skolars’ on-going journey. I would like to thank the Directors for giving me this opportunity and everyone associated with the club for providing such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I am feeling increasingly confident that 2019 will prove to be a very good year for the Skolars.”
As the club attempts to expand its community outreach across the city, the team is placing increased emphasis on youth development and the Skolars Foundation. Leading that charge is the main focus of Kev’s new role. He added:
“I am happy and excited to be joining a forward-thinking club with international ties. This is a club actively seeking to involve one of the most diverse local communities in Rugby League. Building bridges in Haringey, breaking down barriers and showing that anybody can be part of this great game, whether that be playing, volunteering, mentoring, coaching or simply spectating, is of great importance to me. At Skolars there is a positive future for the club, the community and the sport of Rugby League.”
