London Skolars have completed the signing of winger Iliess Macani. The 24-year-old, who spent a short time on loan at Skolars last season, has put pen to paper on a year-long contract with the club ahead of the 2019 campaign.

Born in Tottenham, just a short journey from New River Stadium, Macani began his career with London Broncos, where he spent three years in the first team. He made 68 appearances and scored 26 tries during his time with the Broncos and enjoyed his first loan stint at Skolars in 2014.

Macani signed for Bradford Bulls in 2017 and in his only season with the Yorkshire club he scored 10 tries in 25 games. At the end of the campaign he moved to Sheffield Eagles, before joining the Skolars on loan for the second time in his career.

Four tries in five games for the Skolars ensured Macani caught the eye of Skolars Head Coach Jermaine Coleman, who has now secured the services of the winger for the entire 2019 campaign. Macani said:

“I’m delighted to be re-joining London Skolars and cannot wait to get started. I’ve missed London and felt I needed to come back home. It always feels right being in this city and I’m excited to be playing for my boyhood club once again.”
