25th July 2018

With only 3 days to go until the huge clash against former World Club Champions Bradford Bulls, we caught up with Skolars’ high-profile capture for 2018, ex-‘Bull’, former Super League fastest man and self-confessed ‘Love Island’ addict, Omari Caro.

Q: Your old team, Bradford Bulls are the visitors to New River Stadium this Saturday; a big welcome in store for your old club?

A: “Yes definitely. It’s always fun to see old team mates and colleagues and I’m really looking forward to it. The Bulls fans always show their support and travel in big numbers so it will be good to see some familiar faces. It’s going to be a great day.”

Q: With the visit of the League leaders has the intensity in training stepped up a little bit?

A: “It has, although it’s been a tough couple of weeks game-wise with the close game against York City Knights, who beat the Bulls last weekend and then our long trip to Whitehaven in Cumbria. Those games are naturally grinds and battles so again this week training has reflected who we have coming to face us and we’re awaiting the challenge.”

Q: How do you think the Bulls have gone this year?

A: “Good. The quality is there and they were always very likely to challenge for automatic promotion. They’ve got quality throughout the squad and a good coach has come in this year and made a difference. They had a difficult result against York at the weekend¬† but it the was two top teams in the division hammering out so it always was going to be difficult. But overall I think they will do really well towards the end of the season.”

Q: How do you see the game going at the weekend, where are the Bulls main threats?

A: “They’ve got a good spine; the 1, 6,7 and 9 are high quality players and Jordan Lilley has just re-signed on loan from Leeds Rhinos and he was pretty good for us last year when I was there. You’ve got Joe Keyes going really well in the halves as well and Ethan Ryan who is scoring for fun. So they typically pose threats right across the park.”

Q: Do you have any special messages for the Bulls fans this weekend?

A: “Yes, bring your sunscreen, it’s going to be hot! Oh and beer is more expensive in London. But don’t worry we have happy hours in the clubhouse and northern prices” (shameless plug, great work Omari)

Q: And you’re a big Love Island fan, so the big question is did Georgia go for the kiss?

A: Yes she did. Typical Yorkshire girl!

Q: What’s your view on the season, who do you think will win and who would YOU have coupled up with.

A: It’s been a good season but I also think it’s been scripted a lot more than the previous series which makes a lot of it hard to believe. Kaz and Josh should win but I’m sure Jack and Dany will. As for me I would probably have coupled up with Ellie or Kaz. Or both hahaha
