The Rugby Football League Champion Schools competition returns to New River tomorrow, Friday 8th June.
13 schools and youngsters from Year 7 from across North London will take part in the showcase competition. Schools taking part include Alexandra Palace, Cardinal Pole, St Thomas More, Seven Kings Ilford, Oasis Academy, Aylward Academy, Christs College Finchley, Highgate Wood, Finchley Catholic, Fortismere, Heartlands, Park View and Latymer Schools will all descend to the home of the Skolars for a day of great rugby, fun and meeting new friends.
The world’s biggest schools Rugby League competition, the RFL’s Champion Schools, has seen a range of changes in 2018, all designed to support more players to play more often at an appropriate level at school, and to deliver outstanding Rugby League experiences for young people, their families and teachers.
This year sees the prestigious Champion Schools Finals move to a new Rugby League venue in the North of England during the week commencing 2 July, part of the summer term.
The Finals – for Years 8-10 boys and Years 7-10 girls – will be supported by the RFL Performance and Development team and will feature support from former players and leading coaches, and will be inspired by the upcoming home Rugby League World Cup 2021.
The unique Year 7 Boys Final remains as the curtain raiser to the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final at Wembley on Saturday, 25 August, 2018.
