On what should be an incredible day for Rugby League in the Capital. This Saturday London Skolars invite all new and current Junior Players to the ‘2017 Season Launch’, which will take place from 11am in the Clubhouse.
Barely have the off-field team at London Skolars had the chance to reflect on what was a record breaking ‘Capital Challenge’ before they are thrust into action again with this weekend’s historic ‘London Clash’ taking place at New River.
Held for the first time in the comfort of our very own clubhouse, the ‘Season Launch’ will provide new and existing players the chance to get sized up for their 2017 kit packages, pay their yearly subscription fees, and obtain all information and important upcoming dates for the season ahead.
Age group coaches will then can then run a field session if they wish, before all players being able to take in as much of the day as they want.
Community Manager Matt Cuss commented ‘the Season Launch morning will really kickstart our Junior programme for 2017, whilst we’ve been keeping our players busy over the winter months, with Strength & Conditioning Programmes and our Performance Squad sessions, Saturday will officially get as many players as possible together, inform parents of all the important up-coming dates for the diary and give coaches the first chance to work with their new squads for 2017.’
Cuss continued ‘holding the Launch on the morning of the ‘London Clash’ will give all our young people and parents the opportunity to stay and be part of what we hope will be an historic day for not only the club but also Rugby League in London.’ It’s some fantastic thinking by the CEO and General Manager and great to see such collaboration between all the London clubs.’
The schedule for the day is as follows:
11.00am – Junior Season Launch
11.30am – Age Group Sessions (Dependent on Head Coach)
1.00pm – London Chargers v’s Bridgend Blue Bulls
3.00pm – ‘The London Clash’ – London Skolars v’s London Broncos
5.00pm – West Warriors v’s GB Police
The Skolars Clubhouse and ‘1995 Bar’ will be open from 11am with drinks and hot food available all day.
