Skolars Coach Jermaine Coleman has named an extended 19 man squad for this weekend’s home game against the visiting South Wales Scorpions side, in the iPro Cup match on Saturday, with two players to be omitted before kick off.
The home team has been boosted by the inclusion of Welsh international and former Bradford Bulls flyer Elliot Kear, who has been named to start on the wing.
Kear is an experienced addition to the Skolars team, having been previously capped 18 times for Wales as well as playing in the Super League and in the Aviva Rugby Premiership for London Welsh.
He joins young props, John Magri and Toby Everett. Everett has been named to start at prop while Magri will come off the bench.
All three players arrive via dual registration from the London Broncos and have spent the pre-season training full-time.
The Scorpions have historically played well against the Skolars, winning three out of the last four encounters between the two teams. No doubt, Skolars will be looking to make amends this weekend in what shapes to be a thrilling encounter.
Skolars have named a strong side with key players Mike Worrincy and Dave Williams back from injury and enforcer Willl Lovell cleared to play, having overcome an ankle injury sustained at training during the week.
Tickets are available at the gate for £10.
Kick 4pm this Saturday 20th February at New River Sport & Fitness.
