On Saturday January 30th 2016 London Skolars will face London Broncos for the 2nd consecutive year at New River Stadium in the much anticipated London Clash.
The competitive friendly will give both sides a chance to test out their game plans and structures early in the New Year. For the Skolars who play the week prior in the annual Capital Challenge Match against Wigan Warriors XIII at the HAC it will provide League 1 players with two tough fixtures to measure their early progress from a difficult 2015 season. The match will be very exciting and physical as both clubs seek bragging rights in London. The game is a continuation of the great tradition of the two clubs playing a marquee game prior to their official seasons.
New River Stadium and the surrounding precinct has undergone a £4 million redevelopment over the last two League 1 seasons and the Skolars new pavilion and clubhouse bar is now in the final stages of development in preparation for the game. After a challenging 2015 season the London Clash will provide Skolars players and fans with their first chance to utilise the new changing rooms and facilities at New River adding to the spectacle.
Skolars General Manager, Angus Armstrong said ‘The club has undergone a challenging two years playing at Enfield in 2014 than operating out of a partially completed facility here at New River this year. We are really looking forward to having full access to the new facility and clubhouse that will significantly improve the match day experience for players and fans. Playing the London Clash is always a highlight for both teams’ fans and will provide our squad with a strong hit out heading into our Cup ties in February.’
The Skolars are currently offering fans a number of Early-Bird Season Ticket Offers. Early Bird Adult season tickets can be purchased for £95 (face value £105) while Concession Season Tickets can be purchased for £65 (face value £75). For fans looking to head to the 2016 Challenge Cup they can purchase a Season Ticket and Challenge Cup combo ticket for an additional £20.
We are now less than 4 weeks away from the Skolars 20th Anniversary Celebration to be held at the Wesley Hotel in Euston on Friday 6th November. Wigan Warriors legend, Kris Radlinski will be the Guest of Honour for this fantastic evening taking place on the eve of the England v New Zealand International. Guests will enjoy a 2 course hot buffet and welcome drink for the great price of £30, to purchase tickets and join in celebrating 20 years of rugby league in the Capital visit the club shop on the Skolars website.
