Following on from Sunday’s tragic events involving Keighley Cougars half-back Danny Jones, there has been an outpouring of compassion and help from the Rugby League community to support Danny’s family through this difficult time.
A Just Giving Page set up by the RFL Benevolent Fund in his memory has already surpassed the £50,000 mark in just 3 days and looks likely to break the £100,000 barrier.
London Skolars as a club have been working hard on creating some fundraising initiatives to show their support for the Keighley Cougars and to help Danny’s family in this difficult time. There will be lots of events planned in the near future but to kick-start the fundraising the club has kindly been donated 2 VIP Tickets for an exclusive gig by the British indie rock group the Charlatans next Thursday 14th May 2015 at the Hard Rock Cafe in London.
The VIP Tickets have been kindly donated by the Hard Rock Cafe London, who are long term supporters and partners of the London Rugby League Foundation. The tickets are only available to competition winners and music industry professionals so it really is an exclusive gift and we are very lucky to have them.
The prize includes 2 VIP Entry tickets into an exclusive gig at the Hard Rock Cafe in London, with 2 VIP Free Meal Cards and a complimentary bar all night.
The tickets will be auctioned off through a Facebook Auction which will go live this evening. The auction will end on Tuesday 12th May at noon. The highest bidder will then walk away with this fantastic prize.
