London skolars will be looking to build upon their recent 30-12 victory last week away at mountain ash against the South Wales scorpions, when they host the Gloucestershire All golds this Sunday 3pm down at New river.
Gloucester hold an almost identical record as the London skolars so far this season in league 1, beating South Wales convincingly in the opening Easter weekend derby round, before most recently losing to Rochdale at home. Aside from the fact they will be arriving determined to rectify last weeks result, extra spice has been added to the occasion by the potential return of former club stalwart Ollie Purslow, as well as last seasons Skolars half back pairing of Matt Bradley and Courtney Davies.
Skolars themselves will be buoyed by the return of the talismanic captain Dave Williams, who is also accompanied by a host of London Broncos players- hard running prop Jonathan Wallace, strike runner Harvey Burnett and the organiser Joel Wicks. Still missing are Louis Robinson (ribs) and John Paxton (knee).
Head coach Jermaine Coleman was in an upbeat mood and had this to say on the clash this Sunday
‘We’ve had a good week and the boys have reacted really positively to the result at the weekend. The coaching staff are happy with the way the boys have been responding to training and new ideas, we aware how tough a challenge the weekend will be but that makes it all the more exciting. We are also excited to know how far we have come in the 10 sessions together and Gloucester will be a good gauge of this. With our fixture at home we are looking for a positive result, but most importantly we are looking at our progression as a group.’
