Jermaine Coleman has wasted no time in boosting the Skolars squad ahead of the first round of the League 1 this Friday vs his old club Hemel Stags.

Firstly, on a month long loan from Championship side Hunslet Hawks comes Matt Cook. The centre, full-back started his days in the Wakefield Academy, then choose to cross codes and play Union. A change back to league saw him sign for Hunslet in 2014 where he spent close to half a season on loan to Hemel Stags. Having re-signed for Hunslet for 2015 he struggled for his chance to shine due to their duel registration with Leeds Rhinos. Obviously highly rated by Jermaine he comes in to hopefully kick start the season for the outside backs.

Secondly, the 24 year old ex-Super League player Max Edwards (pictured) returns from a spell playing union in Australia. Max worked his way through the Academy system at the Harlequins before making his debut against the Melbourne Storm followed by the Leeds Rhinos. With the ability to play across a number of positions his versatility will provide Jermaine with a number of options. A number of players within the squad are familiar with the type of player Max is having grown up playing with him at Harlequins. Players such as James Anthony and Louis Robinson know him well as a barreling runner with an eye for the try line. He is also a very skillful player making him a dangerous proposition against any side.
