Last weekend saw all 3 London Skolars Junior teams make their bow in what was the second round of the London Junior League.
With the U15’s recording an emphatic win the previous week, away to Charlton Gunners it was a chance for the U13’s and U17’s to match them.
The day did not disappoint, at Perth Road, the U15’s kicked off the morning with a 30 – 12 win against North Herts Crusaders, with some standout performances from Josh Clarke and William Prior. The U17’s followed suit and seemed to have easily replicated the form that saw them reach a Cup and Grand Final in 2014 as they were absolutely clinical in dispatching a plucky Eastern Rhinos 48-6. The U17’s scored some fantastic tries, and were noticeably disappointed in themselves when they conceded the single try under the posts.
The U13’s our youngest Junior age group, and featuring many players who have made the step up from Mini’s rugby last year travelled to Eastern Rhinos in Colchester where the result was also a good one for the boys from N22, completing a trio of wins on the day for Skolars with a fantastic 38-16 victory.
All these results bode well for the London Skolars season and it is hoped that in our 25th Anniversary year of RL in N22 it could be the best year ever for all our Junior age groups.
The Mini’s and Juniors will now break for the Easter period, and are back in action in the Cup Preliminary Rounds which takes place on April 11th. The U13’s and U17’s have a bye whilst the U15’s have a tough fixture away at the heavily fancied Medway Dragons.
