As the highly anticipated game between southern rivals London Skolars & Hemel Stags draws closer the focus is well and truly on the 1st Round of the New Era League 1 fixture.
With a 3 o’clock KO on a bank holiday and real ale available at the bar surely this will be a fans favourite. Jermaine Coleman named as the new Head Coach in replacement of long serving Joe Mbu makes this even more of a opening home game rivalry to remember. As just two weeks ago he was Assistant Coach at the Stags under Troy Perkins. No doubt targeting this game as a must win to build momentum at the start of the campaign.
Now roles reversed I’m sure he would like nothing more than arrive here after two heavy losses and turn the tables.
Returning player James Anthony had this to say about the new coach and the good Friday derby,
‘I have worked and played with Jermaine before whilst at Skolars and his knowledge and technical coaching is great. I’m sure it will be a tough few months for him and for the players but I have total faith in his ability to turn around our poor start. The game on Friday is gearing up to be a feisty encounter with the changes that have occurred with players and coaches in the off season. I’m sure there are some scores to settle.’
Tickets are £12 for adults £6 for concessions.
