Skolars and London Broncos Rugby League are pleased to confirm a dual registration agreement with London Skolars for the 2015 season.
Skolars will benefit from the use of up to four Broncos players each week. Broncos and Skolars have enjoyed previous dual registration deals spanning back four years and both clubs were keen to renew the deal.
“I’m really excited that we are able to work with Skolars” said London Broncos head coach Joey Grima. “We invited expressions of interest from Skolars, Oxford and Hemel, Skolars expressed a desire to set up dual registration with us. We met with the club and worked out the best scenarios under the rules of the dual registration partnerships.
“I was impressed with plans at the club after I met with Joe Mbu and Hector McNeil of London Skolars.”
As part of the agreement London Skolars head coach Joe Mbu will attend training and video sessions once a week at the Broncos to ensure continuity in coaching and analysis.
London Skolars head coach Joe Mbu commented: “We are very pleased that we can continue to work closely with the Broncos and help build rugby league together in London. Both clubs have put together exciting and fresh faced squads and we want to push on up the leagues together. Given the closer proximity of the clubs we feel we can work together even better.”
It is clear that Broncos have gone through a fresh start and rebirth and hopefully both clubs can benefit by using scarce rugby playing resources to their maximum effect in London. Skolars and Broncos will also work together at U19s and also Skolars will continue to feed their elite juniors into the London system which provides a pathway through the Broncos Academy to professional rugby into the Skolars and Broncos first teams.
