This weekend as the 1^st team prepare to come back into training, it was the Mini’s of London Skolars that were lucky enough to be the first players to grace the brand new pitch at New River as they came together for an off-season training session.

The Saturday morning session was an opportunity for new and current players to view the new facilities and take part in a fun, energetic 2 hours with their Skolars coaches. Mixed in with the current Skolars U7’s, U9’s and U11’s were a number of new faces, who had been identified through London Skolars Primary School programme.

First team Head Coach Joe Mbu was in attendance to keep an eye on the youngest members of the Skolars family and to lend a hand across the morning. Mbu seemed very impressed by the quality of youngsters and the coaches and parents were very appreciative of his attendance. He commented ‘it’s great to see so many youngsters turning out this morning, we have always had a strong tradition of giving young people in North London the chance to experience rugby league and the formation of the Mini’s last year has really expanded our reach into the local communities. I’m sure that many of these youngsters will continue their development in the fantastic system we have here at Skolars and who knows we may see many of them making their first team debut in years to come.”

London Skolars Mini’s and Juniors will recommence their season in March, however prior to the opening fixture at New River against the Broncos on 25^th January they will hold their launch event. This will give all players an opportunity to register, pay their subscription fees and meet their coaches before the season starts. All players and parents are then invited to take their seats in the stand to watch the first hit out between the two 1^st teams at 3pm.
