On Friday August 8th London Skolars, in conjunction with Play Touch Rugby League, held their annual PCU3ED City Touch Rugby tournament. Despite torrential rain warnings, the weather held out for what turned out to be a fantastic afternoon of competition.
Group stages proved to be an intense battle with a Barbarian Daiwa team taking first place in Pool A and Lend Lease coming second. The dominant force of Credit Suisse took first in Pool B; followed extremely closely by Boost. The semi-finals were no less exciting with Daiwa winning a very close game over Boost and Lend Lease awarding Credit Suisse their only loss for the day to gain their entry to the finals. In the end an extremely hard fought match saw Lend Lease take the win and the plate for the tournament.
Congratulations to Ben Ellis and Prudence Williams for receiving this year’s Male and Female Player of the Year awards and IPREO for winning the Fair Play award and Grand Final tickets.
Lastly I’d like to thank the HAC, PCU3ED, Laurent-Perrier and Ken stone from PTRL for all their support on the day and congratulations to all the teams who participated and made the day a wonderful experience for everyone.
