Skolars’ scrum half Danny Yates has been selected as the Kingstone Press Championship 1 Player of the Week following his performance in his side’s 34-28 victory over Hemel Stags at the weekend.
The former England Academy half-back, currently on loan from Halifax, has improved game on game and this award is a fine reward for his performances since making the move from Yorkshire.
Skolars’ coach Joe Mbu added “Danny’s done very well since he’s been with us. He gets the team around, he gives us a bit of guidance and he’s really inspirational.
“His direction, and talking to the players, makes sure everyone gets to the right part of the pitch. He’s enjoying himself and seems to like London, so hopefully he can stay with us a bit longer.”
