Skolars on the Road – Rugby League comes to Enfield

13th May 2014

Sunday 18th May, 2014 sees the arrival of a new venue on the Rugby League map when the Kingstone Press Championship 1 fixture between London Skolars and the University of Gloucestershire All Golds takes place at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium in Enfield – the home ground of Enfield Town Football Club – kick off 3pm

With the current improvements taking place at the Skolars’ home ground, the White Hart Lane Community Stadium, the North London based outfit has moved six of their home games to the QEII Stadium which is just five miles away from White Hart Lane.

The move had also seen a three way sporting tie-up with Enfield Town FC and neighbours Enfield Ignations RFC both working with the Skolars to ensure the staging of the games with Enfield Council also playing a part in both the staging and promoting of the fixtures.

Skolars’ Commercial Manager Pat Cluskey said “ Everybody at the Club would like to thank the football and rugby clubs plus the local authority for their help in facilitating the move to Enfield.

“It’s an exciting time for us and we’re looking forward to welcoming the sports fans of Enfield and surrounding areas to the QEII and introducing them to thrills and spills of professional rugby league.”
