After three fantastic seasons playing full back for London Skolars we reluctantly said goodbye to James Anthony at the end of the 2013 season.
James headed off to Australia, with everyone’s best wishes, where he signed with the Newtown Jets. As the start of the 2014 NRL season approaches we were delighted to read that James is included in the Sydney Roosters squad for their opening friendly against Newcastle Knights this coming weekend. Check out the Roosters squad by clicking here and you will see James is named in a 28 man squad that includes the likes of Sonny Billy Williams, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Michael Jennings, Anthony Minichiello, Sam Moa and former Catalan Superleague player Remi Casty.
James, who was voted Skolars players player of the season in 2013, enjoyed his best season to date last year, equalling the club scoring record of twenty tries in a season.
We will continue to follow James’s progress in Australia and I’m sure everyone will be wishing him every sucess in his new surroundings.
Don’t forget where it started James!
