Skolars start their Kingstone Press Championship 1 campaign tomorrow (Good Friday) when they host southern rivals and league newcomers Hemel Stags. When the two teams met three weeks ago in the group stages of the Northern Rail Cup Skolars emerged as victors with a 26-4 scoreline.
One new match day feature the club are keen to introduce this season is a guest real ale or two. This started with the Hemel and Gloucestershire games and proved to be very popular.
For Friday’s game we have two ales on sale and they are:
Wharfebank Tether Blond: A pale/straw coloured and highly drinkable American hopped beer, with a resinous character and a very distinctive citrus top note.
Loddon Shrimpers: A traditional ale using 4 different malts and 4 different English hop varieties leaving a well balanced finish on the palette.
The match kicks off at 3pm so be sure to come along early and enjoy a glass or two of our ales to warm the body before battel commences!
