Following heavy overnight snow and an inspection of the pitch and stadium Rochdale have reluctantly had to postpone our Northern Rail Cup tie scheduled to be played on Sunday. The two clubs will now look to find a suitable date so that the fixture can be rearranged.
Commenting on the postponement Skolars General Manager Howard Kramer had this to say: ” We have been in constant dilaogue with Rochdale over the past 24 hours. After hearing that Rochdale Football Club had postponed their fixture at Spotland today it was agreed that there would be a further inspection of not only the pitch but also the stadium. The snowfall had affected the stands as well as the pitch and Rochdale felt there was no alternative other than to call the game off. We will now begin discussions to find a new date for the tie to be played”.
