London Skolar took part in his first race at the floodlit meeting at Kempton Park on Wednesday night (6 March). He finished sixth in a field of seven in a race over 1 mile and 2 furlongs, a good start considering his pedigree suggests his strength will be over longer distances.
The three year old gelding is owned by Skolars’ Club President Harold Nass and is based at Newmarket, where he is trained by James Eustace. His rider on Wednesday evening was Graham Lee, an Irish jockey with over 1000 career winners, including Amberleigh House in the 2004 Grand National.
