London Skolars Junior Section 2013 season has officially begun following their launch day on Saturday.
Community Manager Paul Thorman and Community Coach Matt Cuss presented to the sizeable audience Skolars plans and expectations for the coming season. The audience which, included players and parents from across all age groups from U12’s right up to U19’s, had the opportunity to quiz Skolars staff on all aspects of Skolars club life, from volunteering opportunities at the club right through to commercial sponsorship of the first team.
There was also the opportunity for players to register for the upcoming London Junior League season and it was encouraging to see the amount of new players present, which is testament to the successful schools programmes that Skolars run. Each player received a welcome pack, containing information about the club, the forthcoming season and general rugby league terminology to help with parents and players understanding of the game.
Skolars Community Coach Matt Cuss commented, “today was a great start for what we see as a very exciting season for our Juniors, to have over 70 players turn up today so early in the year was incredible and it shows the desire and commitment that our young players have. With the coaching appointments now made and training starting it really is an exciting time to be involved with the Juniors.”
Training has now started for all age groups and takes place every Saturday at 10am, at New River.
