A Plea From London Skolars – The Anthony Nolan Trust

20th January 2013

The club have supported a number of worthy causes over recent times including the Sickle Cell Society and Joiningjack charity.

Someone who has close ties to the club has, for some time, been fighting leukaemia. The signs were that their fight was being won but it is now known that a stem cell transplant is needed. The club does not wish to divulge the identity of the person concerned in these most difficult times but wants to draw attention to their cause and particularly the work of the Anthony Nolan Trust who have worked titrelessly for 35 year to create the UK’s most sucessful stem cell register.

Commenting on the club’s desire to help General Manager Howard Kramer said “We are trying to bring attention to the the work of the Anthony Nolan Trust. They simply cannot have enough potential stem cell donors on their register. Whether fans register or make a small donation we know this will help save lives. In this case I have met the individual concerned and I know they have gone through a most traumatic time but are determined to beat this. They need a stem cell transplant and the Anthony Nolan Trust can possibly give some hope. I would urge everyone who read this article to look at the work the trust does and if you feel you can help in any way by joing the register or making a donation the club would be very grateful”.
