Aaron Small has left Skolars to join Hemel Stags in their first season in Co-operative Championship 1.
Coming up through the junior ranks at the club, Small made his first team debut for Skolars in March 2010 at York City Knights. That was his only appearance that season, but 2011 saw him play 14 games, all of them in the starting 13, scoring one try against Gateshead Thunder.
That progress saw him pick up the best Young Player Award at the 2011 end of season awards night. However, 2012 saw him make just one appearance, against Toulouse Olympique, but he was a key member of the Skolars ‘A’ team, winning the Harry Jepson Trophy in his final appearance.
