This Saturday representatives from London Skolars will walk one of the most historic bus routes in London to support “Maggie’s”.
Maggie’s is a charity that provides support for anyone that has been affected by cancer. Maggie’s centres are places where people are welcome whenever they need – from just being diagnosed, or undergoing treatment, to post-treatment, recurrence, end of life or in bereavement.
The walkers will be undertaking the 7½ mile route on Saturday from Clapton Pond to Victoria, passing various London landmarks such as Piccadilly Circus, Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace.
Community Manager, Paul Thorman, who is part of the walking group said, “We first heard about the initiative through our long standing partners at Arriva London. Maggie’s are Arriva London’s officially supported charity for 2012 and are supporting their outstanding work through this unique initiative. When we heard about the fundraising scheme, we simply had to get involved. Maggie’s provide valuable support to people impacted by cancer and we feel we have a duty to raise the profile of such an outstanding charity.”
