The second round of the London Origin series took place at the London Broncos training ground in Roehampton and produced more cracking contests.
Several Skolars featured throughout the day including the opening game where the competition got off to a flyer with a fantastic under 12s match which went down to the wire, the North claiming a 24-22 victory to make to 1-1 in the series and set up a decider next week at Medway.
However, the next four contests all went the South’s way. The under 13s won 38-16, the under 14s had a comprehensive 54-6 victory and the under-15s had a convincing 56-10 win. The penultimate game of the afternoon featuring the under 16s looked like being another easy victory for the South as they dominated the first half. However, the North finished strongly before eventually going down 36-26.
It was all down to the under 18s to salvage some pride for the North in the final match of the day. They were the North’s sole victors in the first round and didn’t disappoint this time around, winning 26-10 to go 2-0 and clinch the series.
The final round of matches take place at The Garrison and Medway Park in Kent next Saturday.
