Background
London Skolars skolarsstag.wpengine.com are central to the development of Rugby League in London and The South East. The Co-operative Championship 1 Club has a new opportunity to work within the Community Department of The Club. The Club has established a very strong grass roots programme of Rugby League and is looking to increase its exposure and influence. The Club is preparing itself to push for promotion to the Championship and this role will be part of the team delivering the results needed in that push.
The department plays an integral part in The Club’s place in the community and you will be joining at a very exciting time, as the work of the team expands significantly and through your work in the development of the sport, you will play a key role in the recruitment of new supporters for London Skolars.
The club currently runs or helps run 10 teams across the club including a full junior , student and adult section. The role will be key to help improve and grow this structure and pathway.
The successful candidate will act as a positive role model and link with schools, clubs and community and outreach venues. You will be responsible for planning and delivering a co-ordinated programme of high quality coaching activities. The role has 3 main focuses:
- People – bringing more people into the game as players and supporters to the club
- Players – the role will be a key front line resource to recruit and develop top line talent to push to be first team players of the future
- Pounds – generating valuable new funds through being paid for coaching or helping sell the various community initiatives at the club.
Hours of work will vary and may include early mornings, daytimes, evenings and weekends. Package will be competitive and dependant on experience.
