On a warm Friday afternoon in the heart of the City of London twelve companies battled it out on the manicured lawns of the Honourable Artillery Company’s grounds for the honour of being crowned Pcubed City Touch Champions 2012.

The teams taking part included Ascertiva Group, ETF Securities ( 2 x teams), Chubb Insurance, Ipreo, Bishopsgate Financial, Bloomberg, DTZ, Mayer Brown, Delta One Data, Goldman Sachs and last year’s winners Stratton Metals.

The twelve teams played in two mini leagues of six, competeing against each other in 12 minute matches, which eventually resulted in four of the teams making through to the semi-finals.

Last year’s runners-up, Goldman Sachs, lost to Stratton Metals in the group stage but were keen to make it through their semi-final, against Chubb Insurance, to hopefully avenge last year’s final loss to Stratton. On the other pitch the consistent Stratton team made light of their semi-final, beating Mayer Brown convincingly to set up a repeat of the 2011 final with Goldman Sachs who had a narrow win over Chubb.

The final was as close as last year but one try from Stratton Metals was enough to seperate the teams and ensure they retained their title. Pictured above are the Stratton Metals team, having just received their winners trophy and medals from Skolars Chairman Terry Brown.
