This coming Sunday, the 5th August, London Skolars A’s will host the Army Rugby League 1st team in a friendly match, which will be played as a curtain raiser to Skolars Championship 1 fixture against Rochdale.
Commenting on the fixture the Army RL 1st Team Manager Jason Oie said “The game for us will be used as our final warm up match prior to our Inter Service Championship games against the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force in Sep. The opportunity to play against a strong, successful Skolars A side that no doubt will have players trying to get into the first team plus young talent is a great honour for us. The game allows us to test ourselves technically and physically at the next level up.”
Skolars 1st team coach, Joe Mbu, was equally enthusiastic about the fixture. “The A team, under Coach Dave Roberts, have enjoyed a very successful season. They’ve finished top of the Southern Premier League, losing only once, and last Saturday they won the Challenge Trophy. Facing the Army 1st XIII will represent a different challenge for the team and one they are all looking forward to.”
London Skolars A v Army RL 1st XIII – Sunday 5th August kicks off at midday and will be followed by London Skolars v Rochdale at 3.00pm.
