Joe Mbu takes his 1st team to face Oldham at Whitebank on Sunday knowing that a good result could see Skolars leapfrog their opponents in the Championship 1 table. The team will be travelling to the fixture by train, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Virgin Trains. There are no major injury worries in the Skolars squad as they start a run of three games in 14 days which could go a long way to shaping the team’s season. The following week the team travel to play Gateshead and on the 29th July South Wales Scorpions will visit New River to play the recently postponed fixture.
Two of Skolars three teams through to the play-offs are in quarter final action on Saturday. Ian Ackley takes his 12’s up to face Hemel Stags and will be looking for a repeat of the last week’s 22-40 victory.
The 14’s have a tough task away to Medway, where they recently lost by 36-20 but they will be looking to put in a strong performance.
Neil Thorman’s 18’s have to wait another week for play-off action. They go straight to the semi-final stage and face Barking & Dagengham away next weekend.
Skolars A’s are away to Elmbridge and will be looking to continue their fine run of form that has seen them top the table, with Hamersmith, for most of the season.
