In contrasting conditions from their clash earlier in the season came a contrasting result as Hammersmith avenged their 32-4 first round loss, beating Skolars ‘A’ 36-12, sending Skolars to their first defeat of the season.

In sweltering conditions, the previously undefeated Skolars never really got started and toiled somewhat in the heat. Hammersmith, were purposeful in their play and appeared to have a point to prove being the reigning Southern Premier champions. Skolars finished with two tries scored by Lameck Juma and a goal each by youngster Michael Cawthorn and the returning Ross Hann.

The Southern Premier takes a week off as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations but Skolars ‘A’ return the following weekend against Eastern Rhinos at home, Saturday 9th June, 2.30pm kick off.
