A balmy Thursday night saw the kick off of the London Skolars Play Touch Rugby League season. Four teams competed with the first game seeing Forgetting Benji Marshall take on the Basilicks. Lead well by by Ross Antoniolli and Steve Capilli, the Basilicks featured many new Touch players all who picked up the game with ease and gave Neil Thorman’s team Forgetting Benji Marshall a run for their money.
The second game saw Kim Jong Il’s Liberation Army (KJILA) play Prestige Worldwide. KJILA featured some Skolars stalwarts in Obi Ijeoma and Chris Appleton, and their experience worked in their favour before the stifling heat got the better of them and saw Prestige Worldwide run away with it. The game finished with an unfortunate injury to Prestige Worldwide star player, Sophy Smith. We wish Sophy well and hope for a speedy recovery so she can get back out on to the Touch field!
