London Skolars hosted the first of their Business Club’s networking events in the City of London last night and in the process attracted nearly fifty people representing a variety of businesses and organisations who enjoyed a very pleasant evening discussing business and sport in a relaxed, if not somewhat warm atmosphere!

The unseasonally hot weather meant that the venue, The Gallery in Austin Friars, was a little warmer than usual and the cold welcome beers provided went down rather well.

The aim of the Skolars Business Club is to bring together a multitude of businesses who enjoy networking and who have a common love of sport, particularly Rugby League. Many attending are already familiar with Skolars but many were exposed to the professional Rugby League set up in London for the first time.

On hand to answer any searching questions on the sport’s growth in the Capital were Skolars head coach Joe Mbu, Dan Steel from London Rugby League and Broncos Chief Executive Gus Mackay was also in attendance. Steve Devonshire from Code13 also came along. Code13 designed Skolars webiste.

Much to the surprise of many the event was graced with the presence of Sky Sport’s very own Mike Stephenson AKA Stevo, who was happy to share his passion for the sport.

The Skolars Business Club meeting will be held quarterly and we will announce the date and venue of the next one shortly.
