Following their 66-16 thumping of South London Storm 2 weeks ago, the Skolars ‘A’ could be forgiven for thinking that Saturday’s cup game against the same opponents would be a relatively comfortable win. How wrong they would be, Storm were nowhere near as lethargic as they were in the league round and made this into a gritty cup tie. The first half was nip and tuck with both sides guilty of gifting possession to the opposition. Storm went in at half time 8-6 up.
The second half was just as close with the game only being decided a minute from time by a try from Lameck Juma. The Skolars will have to improve before they take on Hammersmith this weekend, but nothing can be taken away from South London who almost snatched a deserved win.
Tries: Juma 2, Clement-Pascal, Kabia, Obuchowski
Goals: Cawthorn 4/5
