London Skolars were delighted to welcome broadcaster and Rugby League enthusiast Ian Ramsdale to New  River on Wednesday evening when Ian presented his weekly Rugby League show for BBC London live from Skolar’s offices.

Head Coach Joe Mbu and his first team squad were happy to chat with Ian as he was given access all areas to see the lads in training. Ian also took time to accompany General Manager Howard Kramer out onto the New River pitch to take a look at what might have caused the the surprise decision to postpone Skolars home game against South Wales at the weekend. Later on Joe Mbu also discussed the postponement and gave his views on the subject.

Amongst those interviewed for the show were Neil Thorman, a Skolars Community Coach, who spoke about the Touch Tournament being run by Skolars, which starts on the 24th May and runs for 10 weeks. Player and conditioning Coach Matt Thomas then popped into the office for a brief chat about his role.

On the playing side Dion Chapman, who has been with the club for many years and now has a 1st team contract, spoke about his recent call up to the England Student squad.

There was time to speak to the A team coaches Dave Roberts and Nimai Parmar about the excellent start the A’s have had to the season – unbeaten and top of the league.

On the commercial side both Howard Kramer and Commercial Manager Rob Noble were able to talk about the season’s successes off the field in engaging new partners for the club. Ian finished off the show having another chat with Joe about the forthcoming fixture at Barrow.

The Skolars staff and players thoroughly enjoyed hosting the show and we sincerely hope all listeners were able to gain an insight into the daily workings of the club.
