Two late tries from Skolars at Whitehaven at least meant the team made the long journey back to London with a bonus point secured.  Skolars had gone 12-0 down in 11 minutes but hit back with an Ade Adebisi converted try on 14 minutes. Another converted try from the home side meant Skolars went into the break trailing by 18-6.

Skolars shaded the scoring in the second half but it was too little too late as the game was beyond them by the time two late tries were run in by Adebisi and Warrincy, to make the scoreline more respectable.

Elsewhere there was a major shock at Whitebank Stadium where Crusaders recorded an impressive 32-36 win against Oldham – surely candidate for performance of the weekend.

Doncaster kept up their impressive run of form when they beat Rochdale for the second time in seven days, this time at home, as they ran in nine tries to win 48-26.

Workington made light work of Gateshead with an impressive 58-6 win and finally Scorpions ran in five tries at home to barrow but slipped to a 24-42 defeat.

Doncaster, who have played one game more than the chasing pack, now have 18 points, with Workington and Barrow both on 16 points each. The fouth promotion place is occupied by Oldham who, despite their shock defeat, picked up a bonus point to put them on 13 points. Whitehaven now have 12 points in 5th place.

Rochdale have 9 points whilst both Skolars and Crusaders now have 7 points each. Bringing up the rear are Scorpions, who Skolars host next weekend, on 4 points and Gateshead on 2 points.
