Cumbrian Rugby League fans will have an opportunity to meet the sport’s most coveted trophy, the Carnegie Challenge Cup when the Recreation Ground in Whitehaven hosts the third round draw on Tuesday March 13.
The draw, which sees the entry into the competition of London Skolars and the rest of the Co-operative Championships clubs, will take place live on BBC Radio Cumbria as part of a three-hour Rugby League special that will be broadcast from Whitehaven.
The show will feature special guests and interviews, as well as opportunities for fans to have their photographs with the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
Tickets for the event, which includes a hot buffet supper, cost just £2 and will be available from Whitehaven RLFC from next Monday (March 5).
Tickets for the 2012 Carnegie Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday August 25 cost from just £21 and are now on sale. Family tickets giving access to one of British sport’s most historic fixtures to two adults and two children are also available, priced £55 or £79.
