Skolars warmed up for the Capital Challenge with a 54-0 win against a determined army side from the Colchester garrison.
Skolars scored 11 tries with Ade Adebisi scoring a hat-trick on his return to the side after knee surgery last August.
The army side held out for the first quarter of an hour and it took a break from 40 metres out from Andy McLean, finished off by Ade Adebisi to unlock the defence.
The highlight of the first half was a run his own 40 metre line from John Paxton, throwing a superb dummy to open up the closing defence.
The second half saw a similar pattern. The army side pushed Skolars close to the line, but the defence held out to keep a clean sheet. McLean intercepted to race to the line, his try adding to two conversions. Skolars again used four different goal kickers on a blustery day.
