London Skolars have arranged a third warm-up game ahead of their Northern Rail Cup campaign. Skolars will start their pre-season games with an encounter against London Broncos Under 20s side. The match will take place at New River Stadium on Sunday 15th January with a 1pm start.
That will be followed by an away game against Colchester Army Garrison the following Saturday (21st January).
Friday 27th January sees another game in a military environment, when Skolars take on London Broncos at the Honourable Artillery Club for the annual Capital Challenge game. That game kicks off at 2pm and tickets for the event can be obtained from skolarsstag.wpengine.com or by phoning the Club Office on 020 8888 8488.
Skolars’ Head Coach Joe Mbu is looking forward to the friendlies. “Pre-season has gone well. Last year we trained at 3 different venues and that, added to the bad weather, was quite disruptive. This season we’ve been at New River throughout. We took over some space at the stadium and have turned it into a gym and fitness area. That’s really helped bring everything together. Now it’s time to start to use that work in a matchday environment”.
